A young orchid plant that has developed from a protocorm, characterised by the presence of at least one true leaf and typically the beginnings of a root system. Seedlings represent the stage between protocorm and mature plant, often cultivated in flasks or small pots under controlled conditions. At this stage, the plant is capable of photosynthesis but remains vulnerable and requires careful nurturing.
